Growing with the momentum
Athletics is a sport that has been gaining serious momentum around the world, so we partnered with Athletics New Zealand to help capture more attention, and build a strong brand for their organisation and athletes – including launching and delivering the creative strategy for ‘Track Stars’, the new annual National Championships event.
Here’s how we play our part in the Athletics NZ and Track Stars story.
Building a brand
from the ground
Athletics NZ had an ambitious plan to re-invent how the National Championships was presented – and it was a pleasure to be involved as the creative partner to help deliver their inaugural event.
There’s so much momentum worldwide with Athletics right now, so this was a critical step in ensuring that Athletics NZ could grow with that momentum rather than getting left behind.
This kick-started well in advance, with helping prepare and present documents to potential partners and stakeholders – to ensure that the event would get off the ground running with strong financial backing. They secured TVNZ as a partner which also guaranteed strong coverage of the event for further growth.
The full creative process then began. Working with their internal team, we discussed how the Track Stars event was going to look and feel. And then we go to work.
This included everything from building and developing the logo, the brand, the look and feel, fonts, image treatment, look and feel and more. We wanted to make sure that everything at the event was going to look and feel consistent, cohesive, and with a strong aura about Athletics.
Our work with the Athletics NZ included:
↪ Creative Strategy, Brand Development and Logo Design
↪ Delivery of all Ticketing, Marketing and Social Creative
↪ Set-up and delivery of editable PSD files for in-house creative consistency
↪ Assisting with overflow when internal team is under-resourced
On-going
Weekly Support
Small internal teams often struggle to deliver the volume of creative – and quality of creative – that they need to meet their goals.
That’s where we have the privilege of not only easing the load, but also giving Athletics NZ the highest quality creative for social media, digital advertising, and commercial assets too.
We work with Athletics NZ in a way where they have peace of mind knowing we’re available to help out with anything and everything.
Team announcement posters, templates for upcoming events, signature posters, event signage and merchandise.
This included:
↪ Full easy-to-edit PSD templates for brand consistency
↪ Design assets for everything from social to commercial
↪ Weekly briefs supplied and returned by requested deadlines
All creative
For all Events
When you’re running multiple large scale events annually – such as the iconic Rotorua Marathon, Track Stars National Championships and more – a key part is ensuring that all brand creative aligns and is taken care of.
Event organisers have enough on their plate dealing with logistics – so it’s always a pleasure helping Athletics New Zealand with the delivery and supply of all brand creative for each and every event.
This includes things such as race bib design, gantry signage, finish line tape, promotional posters, event merchandise and more.
We ensure that not only does the event look and feel professional, but ensure that all creative is structured to deliver key engagement for stakeholders and partners too – helping generate further revenue for the organisation.
Our work with the Athletics NZ includes:
↪ Developing brand assets and optimising for all creative
↪ Supplying all event creative for dispatch and print with stakeholders
↪ Staged approach to event preparation, merch, signage and more
↪ Ensuring artwork was optimised for visibility in high traffic areas
